Richard Teichmann (The chess career)
Jack Spence
Description
Richard Teichman a German GM who lived for many years in England, rose to the top ranks of world chess soon after the turn of the century and from that time, until the outbreak of the First World War, he was a regular competitor in the major chess events. His results were consistent - his nickname was Richard the Fifth because he so often finished in fifth place _ but less than they might have been, because of ill health. His shining achievement at Carlsbad in 1911.
This book was first published in 1970, but the present edition incorporates corrections, an enlarged career record, substantially more biographical information and many additional diagrams.
