Gruenfeld Defense Russian Variations - 2nd hand
Eric Schiller
The Russian Variations (4 Nf3 Bg7 5 Qb3) have become a popular weapon against the Grünfeld Defence. Anatoly Karpov used it very successfully in the 1986 World Championship match, when all other methods were failing to achieve an advantage against Kasparov’s stubborn resistance.
A 2nd-hand book seems unread. Algebraic.
Descrizione
This book considers lines with Qb3, which appear to give White at least a small advantage and avoid some overanalyzed variations of the Gruenfeld Defense. The author only presents lines which are successful, avoiding a mass of analysis which only complicates and confuses study of the variations. Every effort is made to present lines which lead to advantage and are easy to remember. A unique self-test is presented to assist reader in assimilating the selected variations.
