About the Author
World Junior Champion in 1973, Alexander Beliavsky has been one of the world’s top players for over twenty years. Known as a brilliant and uncompromising player he has won the USSR Championship on several occasions and inflicted stinging defeats on both Anatoly Karpov and Garry Kasparov. He lives in the Ukraine.
Adrian Mikhalchishin is an International Grandmaster with a deserved reputation as a theoretical expert. A highly respected writer on chess he competes regularly at the highest levels. His other books for Batsford include Modern Endgame Practice, Winning Endgame Technique and Two Knight Defence. He lives in the Ukraine.
Tomasz Lissowski is a respected Polish chess historian. He lives in Poland.
