Spanish Four Knights' game Part 2 - 2nd hand
Leach Colin
Descrizione
In this volume we examine the consequences of 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 Nf6 4.Nc3 Bb4. Alternatives to 4…Bb4 are dealt with in volume one.
For many years this opening has had a drawish reputation, but this rests mainly on the peaceful inclination of certain players rather than a lack of opportunities. Certainly, there are chances for determined players. White’s set-up makes it extremely difficult for Black to free himself, and though experience suggests Black should achieve this aim, in the process he usually has to part with one of his Bishops and allow White to advance in the centre, so the struggle can continue unabated.
